The Green Bay Packers might be without Javon Bullard for some time. The second-round rookie suffered an ankle injury and left the Detroit Lions early on Thursday night and, according to ESPN’s Packers writer Rob Demovsky, he was on crutches last night leaving the locker room.

According to NFL insider Jeremy Fowler, Javon Bullard will have an MRI on Monday to determine the damage.

Javon Bullard has been a full-time starter from the get go. At first, he was playing at deep safety alongside Xavier McKinney. Then, he was moved to the slot, with Keisean Nixon going to the boundary, and fellow rookie safety Evan Williams getting into the lineup as a safety.

The biggest problem for the Packers is how many injuries they are handling along the secondary. Jaire Alexander missed four of the last five games with a knee injury, Corey Ballentine also has a knee injury, and Evan Williams left the Lions game early as well with a concussion.

The mini-bye before the Seattle Seahawks game in Week 15 could be helpful, but it will be hard for the Packers to overcome so many issues at the same spots — especially if the injuries are more serious.
