The youth movement is continuing to blossom in Green Bay.

It's easy to hang your head after the first loss of the season if you're a Packers fan. But, there's plenty of optimism after what the young team showed on Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons.

Week 1's domination against the Chicago Bears might have escalated expectations in Green Bay, but this is still the NFL's youngest roster that's trying to find their way.

Week 2's loss did replicate some great things Green Bay was able to accomplish last season. Against the Falcons, the Packers had two rookies score a touchdown in the same game for the second time in as many seasons.

Rookie wide receivers Jayden Reed and Dontayvion Wicks combined for six receptions, 77 yards, and three touchdowns in Atlanta (Reed scored twice). The two both scored their first career touchdowns (Reed on a nine-yard reception and Wicks on a 32-yard reception).

"It's always great to put points on the board," Reed said after the game. "My first career touchdown, that's all God. He put me in this position and the plays that were called also put me in this position."

Last season in Week 8 against the Buffalo Bills, wide receivers Romeo Doubs and Samori Toure both scored touchdowns during the 27-17 loss. Toure's 37-yard score was the first of his career.

Doubs and Toure finished their rookie campaigns with four combined touchdowns and the Packers are hoping Reed and Wicks can continue with their hot start to the season in a similar fashion.

This isn't even factoring in wide receiver Christian Watson, who finished with a team-high seven touchdowns as a rookie in 2022. When Watson, who's missed the first two games of the season with a hamstring injury, returns to the lineup, this young Packers offense can start lighting up scoreboards in an even more efficient manner.
