The Green Bay Packers had their 53 available players to practice early in the week, but this is not the case anymore. On Tuesday, the last full practice before the regular season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles on Friday, rookie running back MarShawn Lloyd did not practice.

While the rest of the roster, including active and practice squad players, made a team activity at Don Hutson Center, Lloyd pedaled a stationary bike.

Even though it's slightly concerning that the rookie isn't practicing, head coach Matt LaFleur said it's not a setback from the hamstring injury Lloyd suffered during preseason.

"He had two good days," LaFleur said. "Just part of the process."

The fact that the Packers are following a plan to bring the rookie back doesn't mean it's the ideal circumstances. Beyond him, Green Bay only has Josh Jacobs and Emanuel Wilson on the 53-man roster at running back. The situation is even more concerning because Wilson was also limited at practice with a hip injury.

"There's always concern when you have anything like that," LaFleur added. "We had good work today, so we're confident."

Running back situation

Earlier this week, the Packers placed running back Nate McCrary on the practice squad injured reserve, forcing him to miss at least four games. If Lloyd isn't available on Friday, the Packers will most likely elevate Ellis Merriweather from the PS for gameday to complement the group. The team also signed veteran La'Mical Perine to the practice squad to have more depth.

Injury report

Head coach Matt LaFleur said that Lloyd (hamstring) was the only non-participant. The complete injury report has Romeo Doubs (hand), Edgerrin Cooper (hip), Carrington Valentine (hamstring), and Emanuel Wilson (hip) as limited participants.

Practice plan

The Green Bay Packers have had three practices ahead of the Eagles game. The group will spend basically the entire Wednesday flying to Brazil, and they will have a walkthrough in São Paulo on Thursday morning.
