On the same day the Green Bay Packers had to place tight end Luke Musgrave and running back Emanuel Wilson on injured reserve, the team also received good pieces of news. Rookie wide receiver Jayden Reed (chest) was listed as a full participant at practice, is off the injury report and good to go on Thursday against the Detroit Lions.
Fellow rookie receiver Dontayvion Wicks (concussion/knee) also had progress. He was a limited participant, which is a good sign related to the protocol, and is listed as questionable to play.
The Packers offense will still be weakened by several injuries on Thanksgiving. Running back Aaron Jones (knee) is out and tight end Josiah Deguara (hip) is doubtful to play. Moreover, AJ Dillon (groin) is questionable.
Next men up
With Aaron Jones out, AJ Dillon questionable, and Emanuel Wilson on IR, the only healthy running backs on the roster are Patrick Taylor and James Robinson, both re-signed by the team on Monday.
At tight end, Musgrave is on IR and Deguara is unlikely to play. Therefore, Tucker Kraft and Ben Sims are the only healthy options on the 53-man roster — they have also elevated fullback/tight end Henry Pearson from practice squad for gameday.
Defense get problems too
Linebacker De'Vondre Campbell suffered a neck injury during the Los Angeles Chargers game. He progressed from DNP on Monday and Tuesday to full practice on Wednesday and is questionable. It's the same designation for cornerback Jaire Alexander, who was a limited participant throughout the week.
Safety Darnell Savage (calf) was designated to return from IR, but the Packers didn't activate him. Therefore, it will take at least one more week for him to come back. Fellow safety Rudy Ford (biceps) is questionable, so the Packers might have to play with Jonathan Owens and Anthony Johnson Jr. once again. Green Bay elevated Benny Sapp III from the practice squad for gameday to have more depth.
