As was likely since NFL Network reported last night that Malik Willis was expected to start, the Green Bay Packers are going to be without Jordan Love once again. Ninety minutes ahead of the game against the Tennessee Titans in week 3, the Packers released the inactive list, and the starting quarterback is a part of the group.
With that, recently acquired Malik Willis will start his second game in a row for Green Bay — curiously enough, against his former team.
The player, though, doesn’t feel like it’s a revenge game for him.
“I could care less, bro,” Willis said earlier this week. “I think I got paid the whole time I was there. I’m more than blessed for the opportunity they’ve given me. They brought me into this league, whether those guys are there or not. That organization, they took a shot on me. Miss Amy (Adams Strunk), they did a great job by me, for all I’m concerned.”

Recovery process
Jordan Love injured his knee 16 days ago, when the Packers lost to the Philadelphia Eagles in Brazil. He was diagnosed with an MCL sprain, which is a ‘blessing in disguise’ compared to other knee ligament injuries like ACL and LCL.
Love had missed last week’s game against the Indianapolis Colts, but the Packers were still able to pull off a win with Malik Willis at quarterback and a run-heavy gameplan. Differently from the previous week, Love was healthy enough to practice throughout the week and was listed as questionable to play on Friday.
Even if Love won't play against the Titans, the fact that he did his pre-game routine at Nissan Stadium is a good indication that he will be able to play next week, when the Packers have their first divisional game of this season against the Minnesota Vikings.
QB depth
Against the Colts, Malik Willis completed 12 of 14 passes for 122 yards, a touchdown pass and zero turnovers. He had a 126.8 passer rating.
The backup to Willis will be former fifth-round pick Sean Clifford, who has been elevated from the practice squad for gameday for the second consecutive game. Clifford has only one elevation left for the rest of the regular season.
Other injuries
First-round rookie guard Jorgan Morgan had already been ruled out on Friday with a shoulder injury — the same one he had in training camp. Cornerback Carrington Valentine, with an ankle injury, was listed as doubtful and is also inactive. That’s why the Packers elevated Robert Rochell from the practice squad for gameday.
