The NFL Draft is over, free agency has ran its course, and all that remains now are rookie mini-camps, off-season workouts, training camp, and the preseason.

The Packers were the talk of the football world heading into the draft, with the trade of superstar QB, Aaron Rodgers. They didn't get all that much for Rodgers in 2023, but, there's a good chance it balances out with a potential first-round pick in 2024.

The Packers recently extended Jordan Love's contract, so it's clear they are putting their faith in the QB they drafted back in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

There's a lot of uncertainty surrounding the team and while they drafted 13 players, a lot of questions remain. Can Love step up and provide consistently solid play at the QB postion? Will Lukas Van Ness step up and potentially fill the void Rashan Gary's injury recovery has created? Will the rookie tight ends play out? Can Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs step up? How are Devonte Wyatt and Quay Walker going to play in 2023? Can Keisean Nixon man the nickel spot and can Rudy Ford continue to develop at safety?

There plenty more questions, too, so it makes a bit of sense that CBS Sports' Pete Prisco has the Packers falling four spots in his post-draft power rankings:

The Jordan Love era begins as Aaron Rodgers is gone to the Jets. Love flashed last season, so they have to be excited to see where he can go. Their draft was loaded with pass catchers who will help him.

The pass catchers Prisco is referring to are as follows:

  • Luke Musgrave, TE, Oregon State
  • Jayden Reed, WR, Michigan State
  • Tucker Kraft, TE, South Dakota State
  • Dontayvion Wicks, WR, Virginia
  • Grant Dubose, WR, Charlottw

Even with all the questions, Love is the key to the Packers' 2023 season. If he can step up and simply provide solid play, the Packers should be able to compete in the NFC North.

But, as with all things in the NFL: only time will tell.
