The Green Bay Packers almost lost Adam Stenavich to the Tennessee Titans, but ultimately they hired Brian Daboll as their offensive coordinator. But head coach Matt LaFleur is still at risk of losing his OC, and that risk has grown significantly since the Super Bowl.

Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak confirmed right after the game that he will take over as the Las Vegas Raiders head coach, which means that defensive-minded head coach Mike Macdonald will need to find another play-caller.

Steno makes a lot of sense for Seattle

Macdonald will start the process of finding Kubiak’s replacement, and Adam Stenavich is an intriguing option. First, Steno already interviewed for Seattle’s OC position a year ago, when the job ultimately went to Kubiak.

More importantly, Stenavich runs a similar offensive structure coming from the Kyle Shanahan/Matt LaFleur coaching tree. And because he doesn’t call plays on the Packers, LaFleur would green-light a move.

A former NFL offensive lineman, Adam Stenavich, has been a coach in the NFL since 2017. He spent two years as the San Francisco 49ers’ assistant offensive line coach, then was hired by Matt LaFleur to his original coaching staff on the Packers in 2019 as the offensive line coach.

Steno was promoted to offensive line coach/run game coordinator in 2021, then to offensive coordinator when Nathaniel Hackett left the franchise in 2022.

During his four years as the coordinator, the Packers’ offense has been seventh in EPA/play and eighth in success rate — a period that included a difficult quarterback transition from Aaron Rodgers to Jordan Love.

This offseason, the Packers already lost their quarterbacks coach — Sean Mannion went to the Philadelphia Eagles as the play-calling offensive coordinator.

In Seattle, Mike Macdonald will go to his third offensive coordinator in three years as a head coach. Initially, he hired former Washington OC and assistant head coach Ryan Grubb, but the transition to the pro level wasn’t successful; Grubb is now at Alabama.

Kubiak is leaving the organization for much better reasons, but it still creates some volatility and uncertainty. Hiring a coach who runs a similar scheme would be a strategy to avoid disruption for a program that had a magical season in 2025.
