Jon-Eric Sullivan interviewed for the Tennessee Titans and New York Jets general manager jobs earlier this offseason. Both teams went in other directions, so it looked like the Green Bay Packers would be able to retain its vice president of player personnel and its entire front office in play.

But now there might be another option on the table. The Jacksonville Jaguars is still looking for a new GM after firing Trent Baalke late in the process, and Jon-Eric Sullivan is amongst the team's considerations.

ESPN's NFL insider Jeremy Fowler reported that the Packers executive is evaluated by the Jaguars.

The Jaguars officially interviewed him on Friday.

His impact on the Packers organization is significant, and Packers GM Brian Gutekunst praised him.

"I can't imagine a better candidate out there. I'm certainly very, very biased, but whoever gives him an opportunity, he's going to do an outstanding job," Gutekunst said. "He's really impacted our organization in so many different ways. He'll be missed, but we also have a lot of guys that I think are ready to move into that space and if that's the case. But selfishly, I'd like him back. But I think he's absolutely 100% ready for this opportunity and excited for him."

Sullivan started in the NFL with an internship with the Packers in 2003, and it changed his life. He had different scouting roles from 2004 to 2015, when his career really started to take off. In 2016, he was promoted to director of college scouting by former general manager Ted Thompson.

When Brian Gutekunst took over in 2018 and Eliot Wolf left the team, Jon-Eric Sullivan became the second executive in the hierarchy of the scouting department, being promoted to co-director of player personnel — and his status was solidified in 2022, when he was named the vice president of player personnel.

A former college wide receiver, Jon-Eric is son of Jerry Sullivan, who coached football at the college and NFL levels for 40 years and retired in 2021.
