The Green Bay Packers could have clinched a playoff berth last week, but the scenarios were kind of crazy — it included a tie between the Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers on Thursday night. Well, the situation certainly looks more promising and plausible in Week 16.

The NFL released the playoff scenarios, and everything they need to do is to beat the New Orleans Saints on Monday Night Football. That's it, win and you're in.

However, the Packers can secure a playoff spot even before stepping onto the field. This possibility is less likely, but it's not absurd as a tie would be.

Clinching scenarios for the Packers:

  1. Packers win or tie vs Saints
  2. Falcons lose or tie vs Giants + Rams lose or tie vs Jets
  3. Falcons lose or tie vs Giants + Seahawks lose or tie vs Vikings

Rooting for the Giants, Jets, and Vikings in these games doesn't sound like a promising outcome, though, so the Packers will probably have to win on Monday to clinch the spot this week. The better News is that Green Bay will face a backup quarterback.

The Packers have a higher than 99% chance of making the playoffs, and it's 94% even if they lose all three games left.
