The Houston Texans fell to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, losing 24-21.

The Texans were hoping to complete the season sweep of the Jags, but a few more plays went the Jags' way today. CJ Stroud had another impressive day and the defense stifled the Jags' rushing game.

Now, let's go over the takeaways from this divisional loss.

CJ Stroud has another great performance

What else can be said about Stroud’s rookie campaign? The signal-caller was brilliant again against a tough Jacksonville defense.

Stroud finished the day 26/36 for 304 yards and 2 TDs. Stroud also led the team in rushing, taking 6 carries for 47 yards and 1 rushing TD. Once again, Stroud had no turnovers and did what he could to help his team win. Unfortunately, the defense couldn't make enough plays to get the victory.

The Texans will win a ton of games if Stroud continues to perform like this.

Nico Collins is a legit receiver

Collins once again led the Texans in receiving, collecting 104 yards on 7 catches. Collins leads the Texans in every receiving category except for touchdowns.

Coming into the season much was made about the Texans not having a true No. 1 receiver. With Collins' current pace, the receiver looks set to cross the 1,000-yard mark. The Texans have to feel good about this receiver core, with Collins and rookie Tank Dell leading the way.

The pass rush has to be better

Jacksonville has a decent line, but Trevor Lawrence gets sacked 2.5 times per game. Against the Texans, however, the Jags’ pass blocking was perfect. The Texans were unable to get to Lawrence at all, and the QB torched the defense for 364 yards.

It will be hard to win games if you can't get to the quarterback. The Texans are averaging just 2 sacks per game, so the team will have to get better in this area this offseason.
