The Houston Texans are moving on to the next round of the 2023-24 NFL Playoffs, where they will either play the Baltimore Ravens or one of the Buffalo Bills/Kansas City Chiefs.

Considering how far this team has come, the city of Houston will likely have fireworks going off all night long. And they deserve it. However, let's start by saying none of this would be possible without their franchise guy, C.J. Stroud.

The rookie quarterback was bashed in the entire draft process. He was made out to look stupid because he didn't do well on a test. Now, he is easily the best rookie quarterback in the league and maybe one of the best rookie quarterbacks to ever play.

The game he had Saturday, as the Texans beat up the Cleveland Browns 45-14, was incredible – so much so that he broke some NFL records set by rookies and inserted his name into some pretty elite company. Here is what Texans PR tweeted out regarding Stroud's game:

QB C.J. Stroud (4,360) passed Justin Herbert (4,336) for the second-most passing yards ever by a rookie, including postseason. Stroud now only trails Andrew Luck (4,662) for the record. Stroud joins Sammy Baugh, Brock Purdy, Aaron Brooks, and Dak Prescott as the only rookie quarterbacks in NFL history to throw for three-plus touchdowns in a playoff game.

Stroud is also the youngest starting quarterback to win a playoff game. Stroud also just finished the game with the highest passer rating by a rookie in any game ever, which just so happened to be the biggest game of his NFL career.

He has done incredible things this year, including the fact that he led the NFL in passing yards per game. Then you throw in the fact that he should get better the older he gets; rookie HC DeMeco Ryans should get better, and they have the financial stability going into next year to get better as well.

Now, it's time to get back to the lab and prepare for the next opponent.
