The Houston Texans got a massive 30-27 win in Week 10 over the Cincinnati Bengals and further proved they can be a legitimate threat in the AFC.

However, the win was also a major achievement for Texans new head coach DeMeco Ryans. With his fifth win of the season, Ryans broke a tie with David Culley and Romeo Crennel and now has the 4th-most wins by a Texans head coach in franchise history.

It might not seem like much, but the Texans rookie head coach reached five wins in his first nine games, something Culley and Crennel weren't able to accomplish in 17 and 12 games respectively.

Ryans now trails Dom Capers who had 18 wins in his Texans tenure in order to become third in franchise history. The way the Texans have played in 2023, Ryans should easily reach that number during the 2024 NFL season.

Gary Kubiak (61) and Bill O'Brien (52) are the top two winningest coaches for the Texans in franchise history. Ryans currently has a .556 winning percentage, which ranks first among all Texans head coaches in team history.

In just nine games as a first-time head coach, Ryans has the Texans knocking on the door to snatch the AFC South crown and reach the playoffs for the first time since 2019. The Texans have already won more games after their first nine game than they did during each of the last three seasons.

This Texans team is legit, and their head coach is a major reason why. Ryans is turning around the culture in Houston and paving the way toward leading the franchise back to great heights. There isn't a team more enjoyable to watch, nor a head coach more fun to root for than DeMeco Ryans and the Houston Texans in 2023.
