DeMeco Ryans' Houston Texans suffered a disappointing defeat on Sunday. The team fell to the Jacksonville Jaguars 24-21 at home.
The Texans have now fallen to 1-2 in AFC South play. With close losses, especially with a young team, it's easy to get down and lose momentum.
However, Ryans doesn't foresee that happening with his team.
When asked after the game how to prevent his team from spiraling, Ryans was confident that won't be a problem.
“We don't have to prevent anything. Guys just have to come to work, like I told them. Man, we were close there for this game. It's how you respond. It's how you come back to work throughout the week. There's no magic that's just going to happen," Ryans explained.
For a team like the Texans with many young players, having a strong culture is crucial. It certainly seems like Ryans is instilling that in this team.
"Nobody is going to show up and help. It's just about our guys stepping up and executing in the moment, and that's the message to our guys," explained the coach.
The Texans will have a chance to bounce back next week against the Denver Broncos in Houston.
3 takeaways from the Texans’ loss against the Jaguars
The Texans fell to the Jaguars but had some positives in the process.
