The Houston Texans will be another player down up-front this weekend against the Jacksonville Jaguars

The team reported on Saturday that left tackle Laremy Tunsil will not be traveling with the team to Jacksonville and has officially been ruled out.

Tunsil missed two days of practice this week while dealing with a knee injury that forced him to miss Week 2's loss to the Indianapolis Colts.

Tunsil was listed as questionable on the team's official injury report that was sent out after Friday's practice despite not participating in practice that day. The Texans starter was however limited at practice on Thursday and there appeared to be some optimism that he could return on Sunday.

"He (Tunsil) had an issue with the knee," head coach DeMeco Ryans said. "He got it fixed, been getting treatment, around the clock. He's been on it, getting himself ready to go and we'll see how he feels as the week progresses."

Tunsil will now miss his second straight game of the season. The Texans' offense was able to hold their own against the Colts despite missing four of the five starters up-front. Rookie quarterback CJ Stroud emphasized his trust and confidence in his protection earlier this week, despite being sacked 11 times in the first two weeks.

"This is the NFL," Stroud said. "It’s the best players in the world every week. So, I definitely appreciate those guys because they’re fighting. They’re not just giving up… I love those boys, and I’m going to keep fighting for them because they’re fighting for me.”

Offensive tackle Josh Jones is expected to replace Tunsil at left tackle for the second straight game. According to Pro Football Focus, Jones allowed one sack and three pressures against the Colts in the Week 2 loss.
