C.J. Stroud will have won plenty of new fans with his record-breaking performance in the Houston Texans' win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
And the former Ohio State star also received praise from a famous Buckeye fan, with LeBron James quick to congratulate him on a remarkable display.
Stroud, the leading contender for Offensive Rookie of the Year, now looks to have that honor locked down after exploding for 470 yards and five touchdowns in the Texans' 39-37 victory over Tampa Bay.
His efforts looked set to be in vain when the Buccaneers took a 37-33 lead with 46 seconds remaining, but Stroud saved his best for last.
He led the Texans on a six-play, 75-yard drive capped by a 15-yard touchdown to rookie receiver Tank Dell with six seconds remaining, securing what looked a hugely improbable triumph in remarkable fashion.
Social media was sent into a frenzy by Stroud's stunning display of poise, arm strength and unerring accuracy, with LeBron among many sent into all caps mode by the second overall pick's performance.
Stroud broke the rookie record for passing yards in a single game, set by Marc Bulger when he threw for 453 in 2002, and judging by his superb start to his pro career, it won't be the last time he makes NFL history.
