The Houston Texans received some encouraging signs in their first preseason game against the New England Patriots.

The team walked away with a 20-9 win in preseason week one. While rookie QB CJ Stroud struggled, another rookie stole the show.

Rookie third-round pick WR Tank Dell was the star of the Texans' offense on Thursday.

Dell collected five receptions for 65 yards and one touchdown in his first action as a pro. The rookie receiver led both teams in receptions and receiving yards, all while playing just the first half. Dell could be lethal when he plays a full game with all of the other starters.

In addition to his impressive stat sheet, Dell also made a few defenders look silly.

While that play ended in an interception, that doesn't take away from the fact that Dell made the defender look silly.

The Texans were missing a true impact receiver in 2022, so this performance from Dell is an encouraging sign. Fellow rookie receiver Xavier Hutchinson also grabbed one catch for 20 yards.
