It seems the NFL is doing its best "Grinch" impression this year, as they decided to fine multiple Houston Texans players ahead of Christmas.
And that's on top of the team already losing their Week 16 matchup to the Kansas City Chiefs.
NFL gives news multiple Texans players didn't want to hear ahead of Christmas
The NFL gave out 34 fines from Week 14, and they didn't just fine one Texans player, but five. The NFL handed out six in total to Texans players, with one player being fined twice. Which means nearly 18% of fines this week were assigned to Houston.
Texans Players fined:
- Denico Autry – $11,817.00
- Calen Bullock – $5,916.00 & $5,916.00
- Mario Edwards – $22,511.00
- Eric Murray – $9,788.00
- Tommy Townsend – $11,805.00
Not only did the Texans receive the most fines in the league last week, but Mario Edwards tied for the largest fine given out of all 34 fines due to Roughing the passer for a tackle that the league labeled as a blow to the head/neck. So now not only do the Texans have to get over their tough loss to the Chiefs, but multiple players have to deal with being handed fines by the league. If you ask me, the league has gotten out of control with the amount of fines and the reasons. And ahead of the holidays, to make it even worse, they are truly showing themselves to be the No Fun League.
