The Houston Texans will be sporting new uniforms prior to the 2024 NFL season.
It has been teased that the team will be incorporating "the other color," into the uniforms for a while now, and it seems all but confirmed after today.
Texans marketing executive Doug Vosik confirmed on Houston radio that the team will incorporate "H-Town Blue" into the new uniforms.
This is notable due to the Tennessee Titans' decision to start wearing Houston Oilers throwbacks in 2023. The Oiler likeness is owned by the Adams family, but "H-Town Blue" is the same color as the Columbia Blue worn by the Titans.
The Houston Rockets also incorporated the "H-Town Blue" into their color scheme with the latest "city edition" uniforms.
I'm sure longtime Houston fans will enjoy seeing the famous light blue color on the field once again. The Texans have stuck with essentially the same uniforms since their inaugural 2002 season, so an update is needed.
This announcement not only gives fans a new look to get excited about, but it also ensures that the rivalry with the Tennessee Titans will remain heated. Since the team can't wear Houston Oilers fits, it appears they will do the next best thing and incorporate the color scheme into their own logo.
The last several years have been tough on Texans fans. What better way to begin a new era than with new uniforms?
