It seems the Lamar Jackson sweepstakes may finally be heating up soon.

News broke on Monday morning that the star QB formally requested a trade back on March 2nd. The Ravens did not place the non-exclusive franchise tag on Jackson until March 7th, five days after his trade request.

There has been little traction on a new deal or team for Lamar to this point. However, one of the Texans' star players has started the recruiting process.

Laremy Tunsil, star tackle, extended an olive branch to Jackson via Twitter. Tunsil implored Jackson to "come to the city (Houston)."

Tunsil is slated to play his fifth season in Houston in 2023 and is solidified as one of the best tackles in the league. Jackson surely would love to have Tunsil guarding his blindside.

The Texans could be one of the teams that are best positioned to land Jackson. Due to the non-exclusive tag, any team can submit an offer to Jackson. However, the Ravens have the ability to match any offer. If the team does not match the offer, the new team would have to send two first-round picks to Baltimore.

The Texans currently have two first-round picks in the 2023 and 2024 NFL Draft, so the draft capital is there.

Many expect the Texans to take a QB with the second-overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, but the team may prefer a proven commodity like Jackson.

Whichever route the Texans end up taking, it's clear that Laremy Tunsil wants Jackson under center in 2023.
