The All-Pro could still be a huge difference-maker for the Houston Texans.

The Texans have been very active in free agency to this point, but there is still work to be done.

The team has addressed the defensive and offensive lines the most by bringing in Sheldon Rankins, Chase Winovich, Hassan Ridgeway, and Shaq Mason respectively.

However, more weapons can be added to an offense that ranked 31st in the league in 2022 in yards per game.

With that in mind, Jeff Kerr of CBS Sports lists one possible option to improve the teams' offense- Ezekiel Elliott.

Elliott was released by the Dallas Cowboys after spending seven seasons with the team. In that time, Elliott earned First-team All-Pro honors once and was a Pro Bowl selection three times.

Kerr said the following regarding the fit:

If Elliott still feels he can be a lead back in the league, he wouldn't have to travel far out to get that opportunity. Houston has Damion Pierce as a starter, but Elliott would get the opportunity for touches. The Texans were 31st in the league in rush yards per game, rushing touchdowns, and yards per carry — so any player would be an upgrade for that offense. Elliott could certainly get his carries in Houston, paving the way for a young quarterback.

If the Texans are serious about getting back to contention, these are the type of moves the team should make. With a rookie quarterback most likely taking the reigns, the team should provide him with all the weapons possible.

While Elliott is several years removed from his best season, he is still just 27-years-old. With Royce Freeman and Rex Burkhead not under contract, there is room for Elliott on this Houston team.
