The Houston Texans got a quarterback on the very first day of this year's free agency window: Case Keenum. While he's not the projected starter, he provides a veteran presence at a very low cost.

The Texans signed the veteran quarterback to a two-year, $6.25 million contract, per A to Z Sports' Doug Kyed. The deal includes a $750,000 signing bonus and $4 million in total guarantees.

Here's how the deal breaks down:

Base salaries:

2023: $2.25M (fully guaranteed)
2024: $2.75M

Keenum is due for an additional $250,000 in per-game roster bonuses in each of the two years. It also includes up to $1 million in playing time incentives each year.

Keenum's cap hit in 2024 will be of $2.88M, which won't keep the Texans from spending moving forward.
