When you see success in the NFL one season, things normally become tougher for you the very next.
That very well will be the case for the Houston Texans, who will have to play a first-place schedule after winning the NFC South.
The twist is that the 2024 season could be tough right from the start for the Texans if they’re the team that draws the Super Bowl champions.
Texans are one team that the Chiefs could open their season against in September. Kansas City defeated the San Francisco 49ers by a score of 25-22 to capture their second straight Super Bowl win.
One thing pops off right away in that matchup and it is the C.J. Stroud going up against Patrick Mahomes. Stroud will be coming off of a Rookie of the Year campaign, while Mahomes is the best quarterback in the league and has already won three Lombardi trophies.
The Texans won a playoff game in 2023 by defeating the Cleveland Browns in the wild-card round of the playoffs. Houston fell to the Baltimore Ravens in the following round, but the season was a big success for first-year head coach DeMeco Ryans.
Houston may have a chance to show everyone they mean business from the jump in 2024 and that’s exciting. Either way, they’ll see the Super Bowl winners.
C.J. Stroud makes the case for Texans’ DeMeco Ryans being robbed of the Coach of the Year Award
The Texans were indeed robbed.
