Last season, the Houston Texans and their general manager Nick Caserio showed that they can have one of the best front offices in the entire NFL — that they can draft with the best of them. They traded up and used their own pick to take quarterback C.J. Stroud and defensive end Will Anderson Jr. The two of them won their own respected Rookie of the Year Awards for their side of the ball.

This year, while it hasn't been vocalized as much, they absolutely have another rookie in the conversation. Nationally it isn't being talked about like you would think it is, but, it should be. Of course, then again, we watch the Houston Texans every week, and this week against the Miami Dolphins, one of their rookies showed out.

Here is what the Texans PR team tweeted out during the game about how safety Calen Bullock from USC, was playing:

Safety Calen Bullock recorded his fifth interception of the season, tied with Jalen Pitre (5, 2022) for the second-most by a rookie in franchise history. Bullock leads all rookies in interceptions this season.

Bullock was drafted by the Texans in the third round, and with injuries to the Texans' main safeties Jimmy Ward and Jalen Pitre, he was thrown into the fire as a rookie. Yet, he somehow came out of the fire showing everyone he is an elite player at the position already.

Not only does Bullock have five interceptions, he has at least nine pass breakups on the year, too. He has been huge, and maybe one of the best rookie defensive backs in the league. He certainly needs more attention in that conversation, and getting another interception should have at least put a little more recognition on his name.

Next, the Texans will play the Kansas City Chiefs on Netflix.
