The Houston Texans are aggressive in free agency but not aggressive enough. Either that or they are completely fine with letting one of their better players walk in free agency.

The Texans entered the offseason with 29 free agents, so we knew not everyone would return, but there was a feeling that one of the best defensive players on the team would be back with the team. Now, after Monday's legal tampering period opened, it's clear they won't have him back.

According to NFL insider Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2, the Minnesota Vikings are signing defensive end Jonathan Greenard to a four-year, $76 million contract with $42 million guaranteed and $19 million average per year.

It's clear that the price was far too high for the Texans, as he was projected to get around 13-14 million a year. The Vikings overpaid, for sure.

Last season, Greenard had 12.5 sacks with the Texans. Now, Houston has to find a way to make that up, either by way of free agency with guys like Chase Young or in the draft with their 23rd overall pick.
