The Houston Texans suffered a major blow in Week 5 against the Buffalo Bills after losing wide receiver Nico Collins due to a hamstring injury.
Collins suffered the injury on a spectacular 67-yard touchdown throw from quarterback C.J. Stroud where Collins out ran everyone on the field for a big score.
However, after reaching the end zone, the Texans top offensive weapon pulled up slightly with the hamstring injury. Collins was taken into the locker room and later ruled out for the game.
Collins entered Week 5 as the NFL's leader in receiving yards and added 78 more yards to his total before leaving the game. He's already dealt with some prior hamstring concerns this season after popping up on the injury report last week before Week 4.
The Texans currently have a 17-3 lead over the Bills heading into the start of the second-half and will be without Collins the rest of the way. Without him, the team will be forced to rely on wide receivers Stefon Diggs and Tank Dell going forward.
Diggs had two receptions for 27 yards in the first-half and will be looking to step up in a big way against his former team over the final two quarters. As for Dell, the dynamic receiver had three receptions for 36 yards in his first game back from a rib injury.
On the ground, the Texans found some early success against the Bills, even without Joe Mixon and Dameon Pierce. Cam Akers led the Texans with 29 rushing yards on five carries while Dare Ogunbowale added four receptions for 41 yards.
Even with the lead, it'll be a tough battle for the Texans without Collins on the field. Collins was set to be on pace to reach over 2,000 receiving yards going into the game. Hopefully the injury isn't one that continues to linger for the rising star.
