The Houston Texans kicked things off this offseason by signing NFL veteran Robert Woods to a two-year deal. But now they add another wideout to the mix.

Per Aaron Wilson from KPRC2, the Texans are signing WR Noah Brown to a one-year deal.

The former Dallas Cowboys receiver started 13 games in 2022, a career-high after being a backup since 2017. The former seventh-round pick caught 43 passes for 555 yards and scored three touchdowns.

Brown, a former Ohio State Buckeye, has a prototype body to play wideout in the NFL. At 6-foot-2 and 225 pounds, the Cowboys looked at him as a developmental player when they drafted him in 2017.

He's an excellent run blocker, which feels particularly relevant as OC Bobby Slowik takes over on offense. He comes from the Kyle Shanahan coaching tree and will likely impose a similar offense in Houston.

We know just how relevant run blocking is in Shanahan's offense, even from wide receivers. Brown could earn himself a significant role with the Texans.

Because of that, I wouldn't be surprised if he contributes much more than many would assume at first.

Brown joins a wide receiver room that includes Robert Woods, Brandin Cooks, Nico Collins, John Metchie III, and Amari Rodgers.
