- WHERE (on TV): ESPN
- Betting Odds: Saints -3, Over/Under 40.5
Three Storylines to Watch
- Saints D-Line against Panthers O-Line
- The Saints found a lot of success last weekend along their DL. Playing the Titans offensive line aids in that. This week, they will face an already-banged up Panthers line that didn't play particularly well last week. Cameron Jordan, Carl Granderson, Bryan Bresee, and others should have impressive games on Monday night. The Saints need to dominate the line of scrimmage.
- More Taysom Time?
- The Saints did not use much of Taysom Hill in the running game in Week 1. He had just three carries for four yards. New Orleans must be more unique with his usage going forward, especially against a divisional opponent. Allow his utility talent to shine, Pete Carmichael Jr.
- Penning needs to bounce back
- A major component of Week 1 for the Saints were the struggles of young OT Trevor Penning. Penning has just two starts in his NFL career so far, so he has plenty of time to develop. That being said, the Saints need his pass protection to start taking steps forward. Arden Key ate his lunch in the first half last weekend. Expect the Saints to give him a bit more help early on in this week's game.
The Saints can begin the season 2-0 with a victory in Carolina on Monday Night Football. Tune in.
