The Jacksonville Jaguars drafted a guy in the 2023 NFL Draft that was thought to be pretty good, regardless of where he was drafted. That would be Houston native and Houston Cougar alumnus Derek Parish.

Parish was drafted in the seventh round of the 2023 NFL Draft as a linebacker, which was a position the Jaguars were already pretty stacked at. That meant Parish would have trouble seeing the field.

In college, Parish finished with 17 sacks and 158 total tackles. He was pretty good, to say the least. It just never worked out for him this last year in the NFL, as he didn't play a single snap.

Now, he has a new home, where he has a chance to make a name for himself and possibly get a better chance later down the road. Only, he won't be in the NFL, but the CFL, the Canadian Football League, where he will be playing for their 2023 season champions, the Toronto Argonauts.

There is a chance he could do some really big things.
