Making offseason additions is always fun around the NFL. Keeping one of your own is also exciting, and the Jacksonville Jaguars got that done this weekend in a move that many people felt came out of left field.

Travon Walker is here to stay for the Jags defense.

Jags extend Travon Walker

The Jaguars have inked pass rusher Travon Walker to a four-year, $110 million contract extension. It is worth $77 million fully guaranteed, with $50 million guaranteed at signing.

Walker is now the 12th-highest-paid edge rusher when it comes to annual salary across the league. He has been a consistent performer and was rewarded by the team as a cornerstone player.

Travon Walker contract extension GRADE: A-

Comparing the deal to other top pass rushers

That strong grade truly lies in that spot due to the value of this contract. Both Aidan Hutchinson and Trey Hendrickson were recently given new deals, both of which were more expensive than Walker.

Even though those two may have better overall pass rushing skill sets than Walker, he has proven to be a one of the best all-around edge rushers in football.

He is a strong run defender and grown into a much better pass rusher. In 2023 and 2024, he totaled 20.5 sacks for Jacksonville. He dealt with some injuries last season that spurred his production compared to prior years.

Now, Walker will look to keep the Jags on a strong trajectory with a young core, alongside fellow pass rusher Josh Hines-Allen.
