After parting ways with former GM Trent Baalke, the Jaguars first honed in on finding their next head coach. They did just that, hiring former Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Liam Coen about three weeks ago. Since then, Jaguars owner Shad Khan has interviewed several candidates for his GM vacancy.
Below is a list of names who have interviewed with Jacksonville so far. We will continue to update the tracker each time a candidate is interviewed, and have full coverage of when the Jaguars officially make their hire.
Former Tennessee Titans General Manager Jon Robinson
Robinson has held multiple titles throughout his 22-year NFL career. He began as a regional scout for the New England Patriots in 2022, working his way up to Director of College Scouting by 2009.
Robinson left to take the Buccaneers' Director of Player Personnel job in 2014, then was named the GM of the Titans in 2016. He also became Tennessee's Executive Vice President in 2017, holding both titles before being fired in 2022.
New York Giants Assistant General Manager Brandon Brown
Brown broke into the league as a pro personnel intern with the New York Jets in 2012. After two years as a scout for the Indianapolis Colts, Brown Assistant Director of Pro Scouting for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2017. In 2021 he was promoted to Director of Player Personnel, then in 2022 he became the Giants' assistant GM.
Buffalo Bills Director of Player Personnel Terrance Gray
Gray's first major opportunity with an NFL team came in back in 2003 with the Kansas City Chiefs as their development coordinator. He then became a scout with the Chiefs and Minnesota Vikings from 2005-2016, then became the Buffalo Bills Director of College Scouting in 2017. In 2022 he landed his current role with Buffalo.
Cincinnati Bengals Senior Personnel Executive Trey Brown
After a brief playing career as a cornerback, Brown was hired as a scouting assistant by the Patriots in 2010. He held various roles with the Eagles from 2013-2018, then had a stint with the Birmingham Irons (Alliance of American Football) as Executive Vice President of Football Operations in 2019. He returned to the NFL as a scout for the Bengals in 2021, and received his current role in 2022.
Los Angeles Rams Director of Scouting Strategy James Gladstone
Gladstone has been with the Los Angeles Rams since 2016, beginning as the senior assistant to the GM. In 2019 he became the Director of Scouting Strategy, then was promoted to Director of Scouting in 2021. Gladstone landed his current role in 2022.
San Francisco 49ers Director/Scouting and Football Operations Josh Williams
Williams broke into the San Francisco 49ers' scouting department in 2011. He became a pro personnel scout in 2013, an area scout in 2017, and a national scout in 2022. Williams was promoted to his current role in 2024.
Los Angeles Chargers Assistant General Manager Chad Alexander
Alexander has 26 years of NFL experience, beginning as a player personnel assistant with the Baltimore Ravens in 1999. He became an area scout in 2003, and was named Assistant Director of Pro Personnel in 2009. Alexander held that role until 2019, then he left for the Jets to become their Director of Player Personnel. He received his current role with the Chargers in 2024.
Chicago Bears Assistant General Manager Ian Cunningham
Cunningham began his front office career as a player personnel assistant in 2008 with the Ravens. After becoming a scout in 2013 with Baltimore, he took a job with the Eagles as their Director of College Scouting. Cunningham worked his way up to Director of Player Personnel in 2021, then was hired in his current role in 2022.
Green Bay Packers Vice President of Player Personnel Jon-Eric Sullivan
Sullivan has spent his entire front office career with the Green Bay Packers. He got his start in 2004 in their football operations department, then became a scout in 2008. In 2016 he was named Green Bay's Director of College Scouting, then was promoted to Co-Director of Player Personnel in 2018. For the last three years, Sullivan has served as the Packers' Vice President of Player Personnel.
Las Vegas Raiders Assistant General Manager Champ Kelly
After starting off as a scout, Kelly began his front office career in 2008 with the Denver Broncos as their Assistant Coordinator of Pro and College Scouting. He was named Director of Pro Personnel in 2010, then jumped ship to the Bears to be their Director of Pro Scouting in 2015. Kelly was quickly promoted to Assistant Director of Player Personnel in 2017, before getting his current role with the Raiders in 2022.
Jacksonville Jaguars Assistant General Manager Ethan Waugh
Waugh is the only in-house candidate for the Jaguars, serving as their assistant GM since 2022. Before that he was the Vice President of Player Personnel with the 49ers from 2020-2021. Originally a college coach, Waugh became a scout for San Francisco in 2004.
*UPDATE: The Jaguars announced on Saturday that Cunningham, Gladstone, Sullivan, Williams, and Waugh are the finalist for their GM vacancy.
