The Jacksonville Jaguars will host the defending Super Bowl Champions, the Kansas City Chiefs, in their home opener at EverBank Stadium today.
Here's how you can watch and listen to the game:
Kansas City Chiefs (0-1) at Jacksonville Jaguars (1-0) Date: Sunday, September 17th Time: 1:00 EST Location: EverBank Stadium / Jacksonville, Florida How to watch on TV: CBS / WJX4 Streaming: FuboTV, Youtube TV, NFL+, Paramount+ Radio: WJXL (1010 AM & 92.5 FM)
Three things to watch for:
Offensive Explosion- Both the Jaguars' and the Chiefs' strong suit is on the offensive side of the ball. Don't forget that Doug Pederson was Andy Reid's offensive coordinator once upon a time in Philadelphia. This game has all the potential to break wide open and quickly turn into an old-school shootout. Not to mention that both offenses are healthy, as the Chiefs are expecting Travis Kelce to return to the lineup today.
Chris Jones- The Chiefs inked a one-year deal worth up to $25M with their star defensive tackle this past week. This is the first time Jones will suit up with his squad all season, including training camp. Jones may get off to a rocky start, as he missed so much time and hasn't gelled with the 2023 Chiefs just yet. Chief's WR Kadarius Toney found himself in a similar situation as Chris Jones, as both players missed training camp. Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said that the only way to get players acclimated to an NFL game again is to continue to play them. This may apply to Jones too.
Defense: The Jaguars defense more than likely faces its biggest test of the season today. Although Mahomes' squad had a subpar showing vs the Lions last week, don't expect them to continue the skid. Travis Kelce will more than likely be out there and the Chiefs are looking to put that week one loss in the fluke category. As for the Jags defense, expect Josh Allen to be all over Patrick Mahomes today and continue his stellar performance from a week ago. On the opposite side of Allen, Travon Walker will line up against former Jaguar, Jawaan Taylor in the most anticipated matchup of the day.
While most might see this game as a regular season matchup, it very well could be a preview of this year's AFC Championship. It's like Christmas in September.

It’s validated too.
