Nothing was working for the Jaguars in today's game vs. the Texans. The Jags ended up falling to their division rival 17-37. Here's what went wrong:

Slow offense:

For the second week in a row, the Jaguars offense has struggled. They got off to an extremely slow start to this game and never really got the ball rolling. Calvin Ridley had a problem catching the ball, Jamal Agnew fumbled, and Trevor Lawrence threw a bad interception- all things that can't happen if you're trying to win against your division rival.

3rd down efficiency was a glaring problem as well. The Jags actually had more rushing and passing yards than the Texans, but struggled to move the chains on 3rd down. They finished the day 5/13 on 3rd downs.

After a scoreless first half, the Jags' first points came in the 3rd quarter by way of a Tank Bigsby touchdown rush. The only other touchdown came early in the 4th quarter, but even then, those two scores were too little too late.

Defense gave up big plays:

The defense and special teams gave up a number of big plays to the Texans. One of those big plays was a kick return touchdown to a fullback. Yes, you read that right.

The Jags couldn't put a stop to the rookie connection that Houston has in C.J. Stroud and Tank Dell. Stroud finished the day 20/30 for 280 yards and 2 touchdowns. He takes care of the football and when you do that, you win football games. Tank Dell had a whopping 145 yards on just five catches. Jacksonville's defense had no answer for him, as he also hit paydirt to extend the Texans' lead to 17 and put the nail in the coffin late in the 4th quarter.

The Jaguars have a lot to clean up if they want to get back on top of the AFC South and stay there.

Jacksonville begins their two-week stay in London next week in a matchup with the Falcons at Wembley Stadium.
