The Jaguars kicked off preseason action last week in stellar fashion, defeating Dallas 28-23 in a highlight-packed contest. This week's matchup, however, may not be as interesting, as the Lions announced on Thursday morning that their starters will not play vs the Jags.

This comes as a disappointment to most fans with a vested interest in the game. Both Jacksonville and Detroit are young teams expected to establish themselves among the League's best this year.

Perhaps the most disappointing matchup that no one gets to see this weekend is the Anton Harrison vs Aidan Hutchinson clash that has been all over social media this week.

Despite the Lions' starters not playing and the Jags' starters more than likely being limited, there are still plenty of things to be excited about heading into tomorrow's game.

1. Tank Bigsby- The rookie running back led the Jags' backfield in almost every category last Saturday vs the Cowboys. Bigsby carried the ball nine times for 52 yards (5.2 avg). Expect Bigsby to continue to seek opportunities to establish himself in Jacksonville's offense.

2. Backup QB battle- Over the offseason, the NFL allowed teams to have three active QBs on gamedays. This rule adds intrigue to the Jaguars' backup QB situation, as both of the Jaguars' QBs performed well last Saturday. Veteran CJ Beathard played very well, but former Canadian Football League QB Nathan Rourke absolutely shined, throwing what could be the most impressive pass of the season when it's all said and done.

Rourke has everyone talking about his incredible performance. If he continues to excel in the opportunities given to him, he'll prove to the Jags that they need him for an emergency QB role or he could even take over as QB2.

3. Trenches- Last Saturday, the Jaguars' trench play was one of the most glaring reasons why the Jags walked away with a win. The O-line didn't allow a sack the whole game.

O-line depth will be pivotal to the Jags' success early on in the regular season, as Cam Robinson will be serving his four-game suspension for performance-enhancing drug use.

Jaguars preseason action continues tomorrow in Detroit at 1 pm EST.
