The Jacksonville Jaguars have a lot of new pieces in their organization. Further than their roster, their staff have many new faces, and the front office has a brand new leader at general manager.

Accordingly, it wont be a surprise to see some notable veterans join their team that have ties to those new leaders. The coaching staff brings ties to a lot of other teams, and Trent Baalke no longer holds the reins for free agency or the NFL Draft.

Could Jacksonville make a move for a potential top cornerback this offseason? It makes plenty of sense.

Jaguars and Jaire Alexander

Recently, the Green Bay Packers have had trade conversions around former All-Pro and Pro Bowl cornerback Jaire Alexander.

If the Jags want to make a move for an experienced defensive back, Alexander checks a lot of boxes.

He's dealt with some bad injury luck over the past couple of years, but when healthy, he can be one of the  top CBs in the conference. That's the type of ceiling for him. Plus, Jacksonville has a couple of notable advantages with their ties to Alexander's past in GB.

Two former Packers assistants now reside with the Jaguars' staff.

Anthony Campanile

Campanile is the new Jaguars defensive coordinator. Last season, he was the linebackers coach and run game coordinator on defense for the Packers.

Anthony Perkins

Perkins is reportedly joining Jacksonville's staff as their secondary coach. He was previously defensive quality control coach for Green Bay, so he got a bit of a promotion, too.

Alexander's ties to these assistants may impact how much he'd like to get dealt to the AFC foe for the Packers. Only time will tell.

Regardless, adding talent at the CB position will be vital for Jacksonville's defense this offseason. Their new front office has plenty ahead of them in the coming months.
