The Jacksonville Jaguars have just waived one player in this 2023 offseason, where we knew some guys would get let go. The Jaguars are facing a cap situation right now, so, like we said, we knew players would get let go.

But this one is a bit different because this move doesn't really create any salary cap. Perry was on a one-year $750 thousand deal. That would suggest this move wasn't to clear cap space as per spotrac, the Jaguars are $30 million over the cap.

This move should have everything to do with the fact that they just signed backup quarterback C.J. Beathard to a good deal.

Perry didn't play any regular season games with the Jaguars, or in the NFL at all, but did play some preseason games. We will see how his waivers go and if another team wants to pick him up or not.
