The Jacksonville Jaguars had a pretty decent 2024 NFL Draft. They addressed needs for the future and depth right now.
But one thing is pretty clear – the Jaguars have a type, and it's players who played at LSU. As the Jaguars tweeted out, their draft picks are trading in tiger stripes for Jaguar spots.
They took Brian Thomas Jr., the talented wide receiver from LSU, then Maason Smith, the defensive tackle from LSU. They paused there and took Jarrian Jones, an FSU cornerback, and then went right back to drafting LSU players, as they will have three from this draft class alone.
They had two fourth-round picks in the 2024 NFL Draft, and they used both to bolster depth in the trenches on both sides of the ball. The Jaguars took offensive tackle Javon Foster from Missouri, who can also play guard.
The Jaguars have two good tackles, Cam Robinson and Anton Harrison, and Ezra Cleveland and Brandon Scherff are in the guard positions. So, this pick was obviously for depth.
Then they took Smith's running mate at LSU, Jordan Jefferson, who will likely be a nose tackle in the NFL. They are getting their depth ready for the 2024 season after having some bad injury luck last season.
