Last year, the Jacksonville Jaguars won the AFC South and won a playoff game for the first time in five years.

Now, it's about making sure the team continues its upward trajectory in the NFL.

The best way to do that is through solid drafting. Last year, the Jags used five of their seven draft picks on defensive players, including the No. 1 overall pick on former Georgia Bulldog, Travon Walker.

The Jags enter the 2023 NFL Draft with nine picks, so there is plenty of opportunity for to find young, impactful players on both sides of the ball.

Without further ado, here are the Jaguars picks in the 2023 NFL Draft:

  1. Round 1, Pick 24
  2. Round 2, Pick 56
  3. Round 3, Pick 88
  4. Round 4, Pick 121
  5. Round 4, Pick 127 (from TB)
  6. Round 5, Pick 161
  7. Round 6, Pick 179 (from HOU via NYJ)
  8. Round 6, Pick 208 (from PHI)
  9. Round 7, Pick 228 (from CAR)

Jacksonville is not expected to receive any compensatory picks, per Over The Cap.

The Jaguars obtained the 127th overall pick from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on the third day of the 2022 NFL Draft. The Buccaneers sent a 2023 fourth-rounder in order to trade up to pick No. 157 and it turned out to be No. 127.

Pick No. 179 is the result of last year's decision to trade running back James Robinson to the New York Jets. The pick could've become a fifth-rounder if certain circumstances played out, but as you can see, they did not.

The Jaguars' other sixth-round pick, No. 208, stems from the team's trade of cornerback Josiah Scott to the Philadelphia Eagles. The Jaguars received cornerback Jameson Houston and a 2023 sixth for Scott.

The Jaguars aren't picking at the front of the draft, for once. But there is still plenty of opportunity to find the players that can take them to the next level.

It'll be fun to see how everything plays out.
