Jacksonville Jaguars tight end Evan Engram found a home he wishes to stay in for a little longer.
With Trevor Lawrence throwing him the football, Engram put up career-high numbers as the Jaguars became one of the best passing offenses in the NFL. Beyond having a great quarterback, head coach Doug Pederson's offense made Engram a critical piece of the team's attack and now the franchise is paying him to stick around as the franchise gears up for an AFC South repeat.
NFL insider Aaron Wilson from KPRC2 revealed the contract's details on Twitter on Wednesday, including the career feat Engram must achieve again to win thousands of dollars more than originally planned.
Per Wilson, Engram's contract with the Jaguars breaks down as follows:
- 3 years, $41.25 million
- $12.5 million signing bonus
- Guaranteed salaries in 2023 and 2024
- Voidable years from 2026-2028 (for salary cap purposes)
- $250,000 annual Pro Bowl incentive
With the new deal, the Jaguars tight end could earn a quarter of a million dollars each year by making it to the Pro Bowl. While that sounds like a daunting task in a conference that has Travis Kelce and Mark Andrews, Engram has made it to the game before.
In 2020, he was named a Pro Bowler after a 63-catch, 654-yard season with the New York Giants.
In his second year working with Lawrence, a Pro Bowl year can't be ruled out for somebody who has become as important to his offense as Engram. If he makes it, the Jaguars will surely be more than happy to pay him the extra money.
