The Jacksonville Jaguars made one roster move that had been rumored to happen, officially.

It's that time of year when good players get cut or released if their contract doesn't fit the direction the team wants to move in. We also call it cap casualties.

The Jaguars were $30 million over the cap, the second most behind their central Florida mate in the Buccaneers who are $50 million over the cap.

In other words, they really don't have any money to spend. They released cornerback Shaquill Griffin and are now just $17 million over the cap.

So some of these things have to happen, especially in Griffins' case. He wasn't producing for what his contract was, and the Jaguars can get more defensive backs for cheaper in the draft.

Hopefully, Griffin finds a new home soon, as he will be a guy teams want to pick up.
