It was pretty obvious that when it was announced that Jacksonville Jaguars special teamer Daniel Thomas broke his arm, he would be placed on IR.

On Tuesday, the news was announced, showing that things are not going to get any easier for the teal and black.

Some may think that a special teams player out for the rest of the season or the foreseeable future wouldn't be a big deal, but it is.

Especially when you're as good at your job as Thomas has been.

Thomas has played 243 special teams snaps this season, which is 61% of the Jaguars' special teams snaps in 2023. In those snaps, he is seventh in the NFL in special teams tackles and first on the Jaguars in special teams tackles.

The earliest Thomas could play is if the Jaguars advanced to the AFC Championship game, as being placed on IR means you must miss at least four weeks. The Jaguars are suffering a big blow, for sure.
