The Jacksonville Jaguars have had a quiet free agency this year but are taking care of their own. At least that's the case for safety Andrew Wingard.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Jaguars are signing the veteran to a three-year deal worth $9.6 million. The deal includes incentives that could raise that number to $13.8 million.

With $6M in guarantees, Wingard stays with the team that signed him as an undrafted free agent back in 2019.

The former Wyoming standout has earned his place in the NFL. In 2021, Wingard played in 95% of the team's defensive snaps in his 15 games played. That number went down to 19% last year but the team clearly believes in him moving forward.

Not only does Wingard contribute as the team's third safety, but he's also been key in special teams since his arrival.

This is a low-cost move that ensures depth and a starter on special teams. The Jaguars might not be too active during this year's free agency but it's moves like this that can make a difference in 2023.
