The Jacksonville Jaguars started off the 2023 NFL Draft with a bang by adding OT Anton Harrison to the team's offensive line. Harrison is set to become a starter right away on Doug Pederson's offense.
But questions remain on several spots across the Jaguars roster and that could change with the two picks the team is scheduled to make on Day 2 of the Draft. The Jags are set to pick 56th and 88th overall on Friday night.
Here's my Day 2 mock draft for the team that could add yet another couple of starters to the team. Let's dive in!
Jacksonville Jaguars’ Day 2 Mock Draft
Round 2, No. 56 overall: CB Julius Brents, Kansas State

Brents would go a long way to fix the Jaguars' problems in the defensive backfield. The team showed pre-draft interest and it's easy to understand why: Brents is built like the cornerback defensive coordinators dream about. At 6-foot-2 and with 34-inch arms (98th percentile for all cornerbacks), Brents is poised for the NFL.
Julius Brents scouting report from A to Z Sports’ Tyler Browning: More than comfortable getting in the receivers face and getting hands on them. Plays in trail at an exceptionally high level. Can cement his feet when attempting to jam the receiver, it is only for a moment, but that is sometimes all the receiver needs. Recognizes when route concepts are leaving his zone and knows when to pass them off. Doesn’t let receivers get behind him, gains good depth in his drops. – Tyler Browning’s 2023 NFL Draft guide

"Overall, Brents' inconsistent balance and ball skills are legitimate concerns at the next level, but he is a long-limbed, fluid athlete with the loose movements and speed to maintain pace," writes The Athletic's Dane Brugler in his draft guide. "He offers the man-cover skills that will help him compete for starting-level snaps early in his NFL career."
Round 3, No. 88 overall: iOL Chandler Zavala, North Carolina State

Even more protection for Trevor Lawrence heading to Jacksonville! Zavala is Dane Brugler’s 77th overall prospect. The short-armed prospect offers interior play only but his power could make him a legit plug-and-play starter.
"Zavala's medical history might be a hurdle and he will need further development time, but he has NFL size, play strength, and movement skills to grow into a starting role," writes Brugler. "He has the mauling attitude that will help him adapt quickly.
In college, Zavala allowed zero sacks in 17 games playing for NC State. Before 2021, he played Division II ball.
