The Jacksonville Jaguars had an incredibly active 2025 NFL Draft. Now, they just made an important contract move happen that some people won't appreciate nearly enough.

Jaguars extend punter Logan Cooke

The Jags have agreed on an extension with punter Logan Cooke, according to the team. It's a four-year extension for one of the best boots in the entire NFL.

This a move that won't get discussed very much around NFL media. That's fair – Cooke is a punter for a team that isn't one of the most notable squads in the AFC entering this season.

The Jags have plenty of potential this year but must live up to it. Cooke will play a role in that success, but Jacksonville also hopes that he won't have to punt nearly as often this season. Cooke averaged 49.4 yards per punt in 2024. His longest boot was a mind-boggling 73 yards, and he was top five in the NFL for landing punts inside the 20-yard line.

Cooke earned an invitation to the 2025 Pro Bowl Games and was named Second-Team All-Pro by the Associated Press following a 2024 campaign where he punted 68 times and established single-season career-highs with a 49.4 gross putting average and 44.8 net punting average. His 44.8 net average was the second highest in the NFL last season. He also pinned 34 of his 68 punts (50 percent) inside the 20, which tied for the fourth most in the NFL in 2024. — Jacksonville Jaguars

If Cooke stays in Jacksonville for the entire length of this extension, he would have played with the organization for over a decade.

Cooke has proven to be one of the most dominant punters in football over the past few seasons, and the Jags made sure to reward him. The specific contract details have not been released yet.
