The injury Trevor Lawrence suffered in the Monday night loss to the Cincinnati Bengals looked like it could be a season-changing one for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

However, the Jaguars quarterback is set to tough it out and attempt to prevent that being the case as they face the Cleveland Browns in Week 14.

Lawrence is dealing with a high ankle sprain, which he sustained when left tackle Walker Little inadvertently stepped on him.

Such an injury usually sidelines players for at least a couple of weeks.

Yet the Jaguars are planning to start Lawrence on the road against the Browns, per ESPN's Adam Schefter, though they will work him out in pregame warmups before making a final decision.

Lawrence has never missed a game due to injury in his career, a streak that stretches back to high school.

He appears determined to continue that record in a game that is vital for the Jaguars. After their primetime loss saw the Jags miss the chance to move into the one seed in the AFC, Jacksonville can ill-afford another defeat.

A Jaguars loss against the Browns and wins for the Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans over Bengals and New York Jets respectively would put them in a three-way tie for the AFC South at 8-5. It would also give the Browns the tiebreaker over the Jags were Jacksonville to end up as a Wild Card team.

As such, the Jaguars are ready to take the risk with Lawrence, provided he can show Doug Pederson and his coaching staff what they need to see in pregame.
