The Jacksonville Jaguars picked up their first win of the 2024 season in Week 5 against the Indianapolis Colts.

While they've had plenty of time to celebrate that win at this point, the NFL brought the mood down drastically for a couple of Jaguars players. The league fined two Jaguars for actions they committed in Week 5.

Andre Cisco fined for violent gesture

Jaguars safety Andre Cisco's fine is interesting because he was not flagged for the action cited by the league. It came after a second-down rushing attempt by the Colts with 11:52 remaining in the first quarter. The Jaguars made a run stop at the line of scrimmage, but Cisco wasn't even a part of the tackle.

Apparently, the action he made to celebrate the play was viewed by the league to be a "violent gesture." Cisco's fine for "Unsportsmanlike Conduct" came in at $14,069.00. The NFL handed out nine fines for unsportsmanlike conduct in Week 5. Three of those were labeled to be due to "violent gestures. Cisco's fine came in as the second most expensive, only behind Cincinnati Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase, who was given a $19,697.00 fine.

The second player to be fined for the Jaguars from Week 5 is running back Tank Bigsby. Bigsby was fined for "Unsportsmanlike Conduct," which the league clarified as "taunting." The play in which his action occurred at the end of his 65-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter. The play can be seen below, but if you ask me about the gesture Bigsby makes near the end of the run, it doesn't really warrant a fine at all. But on the bright side, his $6,531.00 fine was one of the least expensive fines handed out by the NFL for Week 5.
