Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter is incredibly exciting. The rookie talent was one of the most polarizing prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft. Now, for the Jags, they want him to make an impact on both offense and defense.
So far at practice at OTAs, Hunter is living up to the hype so far, based on clips released to the public.
Travis Hunter makes jaw-dropping grab in practice
The Jags social media accounts are running as much Travis Hunter propaganda as possible. You can't blame them. The latest one may be the most impressive.
Hunter is making waves for his play-making abilities on both sides of the football. We haven't seen a type of athlete like Hunter in the NFL in quite some time, who wants to play (and dominate) on both sides of thew football.
If Travis Hunter can perfect the art of playing on both sides of the ball in his first year, the Jaguars have already won their trade with the Cleveland Browns. And now, that doesn't mean he can play perfectly and not make any mistakes, or be an All-Pro, or things of that nature, that just means if he can do it without getting burnt out or consistently playing badly.
He will make mistakes because he's a rookie exhausting himself on both sides of the ball every single game. But, I think the important thing is that he can play both sides and so far in OTAs, yes let's hit the brakes just a tad, that he can. He's been making plays all offseason, even at rookie minicamp, specifically on the defensive side of the ball, which is the side they threw him on second when they got him set up with the playbook.

Not to mention, Jags fans probably got a bit nervous seeing Hunter lay out for that ball in early June. They certainly want him to stay healthy, but he is determined to prove how special he can really be at the pro level.
But was it actually a catch?
After some further investigation, some people started to mention that Hunter actually didn't come up with the grab on this particular highlight play. As he went to the ground, it appears that the ball came loose, making it incomplete.
Brett Kollmann snagged a great screenshot of that part of the play, pointing to an incompletion.
Regardless, Hunter's athleticism and versatility is showing up daily during practices for Jacksonville. Keep an eye out for more highlight-reel performances from the rookie playmaker.
