The Jaguars are heading back to Jacksonville 1-0 after defeating division rival, Indianapolis Colts 31-21.

Takeaways:

Offense has weapons-

As expected, Trevor Lawrence has weapons galore to throw to this season. On the 2nd drive of the game, Lawrence found his new receiver, Calvin Ridley on a wide open touchdown in the back of the endzone.

Ridley posted a career-high first half, finishing with seven receptions for 92 yards and one touchdown. He definitely had Sept. 10th circled on his calendar. This is the first game Ridley has played in 686 days and he showed out. Ridley ended up having eight receptions for 101 yards and 1 touchdown on the day, leading the Jaguars receiving core in all categories.

Ridley wasn't the only Jags receiver to show out though. Zay Jones hauled in an incredible, diving catch in the back corner of the endzone on a perfect throw from Trevor Lawrence.

Two-headed monster at running back-

The Jaguars have the perfect running back duo- Travis Etienne and Tank Bigsby. Neither Etienne nor Bigsby finished with glaringly astonishing numbers, but the two combined for 90 yards and two touchdowns- a Duval County dupe of "Talladega Nights'" Shake and Bake.

Etienne had an incredible 26-yard touchdown run on a play that everyone and their grandma thought was stuffed behind the line of scrimmage.

Although Bigsby ran the ball well, there's still work to be done on his awareness.

Defense came up big-

The Jaguars' defense, headlined by rising star corner Tyson Campbell and veteran edge rusher Josh Allen had a field day against Indy today. Both Campbell and Allen had their way. Tyson Campbell forced a fumble and an acrobatic, game-sealing interception.

Josh Allen was a man against boys in the trenches, as he posted a career-high three sacks against the Colts today.

In today's game alone, Allen has nearly doubled his sack totals from last year (seven). For Allen, it's vitally important that he continues to play at this level of success, as he'll be negotiating his contract at the end of the year. For the Jaguars, it's vitally important that Allen continues to play at this level of success because he's the cornerstone of their defense.

The Jags head back to Duval County after securing a division win.

Mahomes and co. are up next.
