Tennessee Titans defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons' reaction to defensive lineman Denico Autry leaving Nashville for the Houston Texans is probably the same reaction that Titans fans had on Monday.
According to multiple reports, the Texans are planning to sign Autry to a two year deal (which can't become official until Wednesday afternoon).
Autry, who had a career-best 11.5 sacks in 2023, signed a three year deal with the Titans ahead of the 2021 season. And he proceeded to have three of the best years of his career with the Titans, totaling 28.5 sacks during his three seasons in Nashville.
Simmons, who like Autry played college football at Mississippi State (Autry is older than Simmons; the two were never teammates in Starkville), wasn't a fan of the decision to let Autry sign with a division rival.
"No way we let Nico go to the Texans," tweeted Simmons on Monday.
Autry will turn 34 this summer so it's easy to see why the Titans were hesitant to pay him after a career-best season this late in his career. But Autry is still a good player — he's generally regarded as one of the most underrated defenders in the NFL.
The Titans' loss is the Texans' gain. Not only does Tennessee lose a Pro-Bowl caliber defensive lineman (Autry has been snubbed a couple of times), but they also have to play against him twice a year for the next two seasons.

The King must be happy.
