Keon Coleman is getting dunked on because Terry Pegula is an idiot who couldn’t keep his mouth shut

This is getting absurd.

The drama never ends in the NFL and this week provided some of the more remarkable theatrics in recent memory thanks to Buffalo Bills owner Terry Pegula.

Pegula, along with general manager and new president of football operations Brandon Beane, spoke with the media on Wednesday about the decision to let Sean McDermott go after nine seasons. There were plenty of notable moments, but most of the post-presser talk and attention has surrounded Bills receiver Keon Coleman.

Coleman has been a central figure for criticism, lately, due to his lack of production over the first two years of his career. He’s been flagged mostly for immaturity issues that have seemingly held him back from reaching his true potential and Beane mentioned as much Wednesday.

But it was Pegula’s comments regarding Coleman’s drafting process that really caused a stir and the fallout from his statement saying McDermott and the Bills coaching staff pushed hard for Coleman has the 22-year-old getting unfairly dunked on far and wide.

Barstool Sports takes a dumb dig at Coleman thanks to Pegula

Pegula, wearing the role of tone-deaf NFL owner proudly, didn’t have to say what he said about McDermott and the coaching staff. Since then, numerous videos have been produced showing how much Beane wanted Coleman, which only adds gas on the fire.

But back to Pegula – if he keeps his mouth shut then what is supposed to be an important player for both Josh Allen and the Bills wouldn’t be getting dragged through the mud like this.

It’s one thing to talk about someone’s on-field play, but it’s a whole different story to take potshots at someone’s intelligence. And there’s absolutely no sign of a lack of intelligence in this video. Coleman just has one of those personalities where he just makes people laugh without intending to. Regardless, Barstool’s take is simply crossing the line into getting personal, but that’s their MO and they wear it proudly.

This is not good ownership and frankly, I’m pissed if I’m a Bills player. Right now, I’m thinking “Well, what keeps me from getting throw under the bus?”

Keon Coleman is 22, man. Even if he’s an NFL player – the dude hasn’t even fully developed his frontal lobe, yet. He still has so much room to grow not as a player, but as a human being. I can only imagine what most Barstool employees were doing at 22 and how they portrayed themselves in the public eye. Hell, most of them are probably 22, right now, anyway.

Give the kid a break and let him be. He’s already dealing with a situation none of us would want to deal on a professional level, much less having to wade through crap like this.

But the ultimate blame doesn’t lie on Barstool, they’re just doing their job (unfortunately). Pegula is the catalyst behind all of this and if I’m a Bills fan, I’m hoping the owner of my favorite team didn’t set back a crucial coaching search with his stupid takes.
