The Las Vegas Raiders have just not gotten the NFL Draft right in the last few, well, a long time, let's just keep it at that. They have drafted well at a few positions, but overall, it's just been bad. I mean, all I have to say is Alex Leatherwood and everyone knows what I'm talking about. And this year and even last year, they didn't take a QB when they obviously should have.

This issue isn't just about missing on a few prospects; it's about a pattern of first-round selections that either underperformed, were released, or failed to secure long-term deals with the team. One of the most infamous draft busts of all time is the selection of JaMarcus Russell as the first overall pick in 2007. Henry Ruggs III, whose career ended tragically off the field, and many others are recognizable as well.

However, it's worth mentioning that not all drafts have been failures. There have been successes, like selecting Maxx Crosby, Josh Jacobs, and a few others. But when the misses are there, man are they loud. In 2025, when the Raiders are predicted to have a high pick due to a potentially bad season, the Raiders can finally get it right.

In one recent 2025 mock draft, there is a rendition out there with the Riders selecting maybe the best quarterback in the draft.

3. Las Vegas Raiders: Carson Beck, QB, Georgia

The tandem of Gardner Minshew and Aidan O’Connell is nothing more than a stop-gap situation for the Raiders. They have a chance to get their future under center and have the pick from the litter. Beck is a clean pocket passer at 6-4 and 220 pounds and should allow the talented pass catchers to begin to reach their potential. Ryan Roberts, A to Z Sports

In his first full season as a starter, Beck has not only met but exceeded expectations. He's been great at managing games, which is not a bad thing at all. Beck led Georgia with over 3,900 passing yards, a completion rate of over 72%, and threw for 24 touchdowns with just six interceptions. That's a good day at the office.

The Raiders need a quarterback who can transform the franchise. Beck just may be able to do that, as he's a pure passer, who can stay in the pocket and make every throw. And, better yet, he knows how to win. That's what the Raiders also need. I think this pick would be great.
